If you are going to build your brand in the digital marketing space, then you need content.
Content is the bridge that you can build between your target customer and your brand. Understanding what types of content to present is also a strategy that most brands make sure they have correct before they start the process.
Here at Weal Media, we have a helpful content strategy. This helps you build more awareness with your customer and leads to faster sales and high loyalty with your target audience.
What is your content strategy?
I want to talk to you about why you should be creating more content now more than ever!
#1: Building A Reputation
Mark Schaefer said it best when he told us that we’re in the middle of a content shocked internet. Content is literally overflowing online today.
So if there’s so much content out there that we can’t possibly make a dent, then why bother?
That’s a question that we receive from a lot of potential clients. They don’t see the value in creating new content that attracts more users. But the reality is, there is an aspect of your business that will come out in its content.
Forget the internet. Forget the tons of content that is floating around the digital space right now. Think about one thing. The target audience. That persona that you have created that you want to attract.
Creating content to attract that person will help you build a better reputation of trust and mutual respect with the persona. When you draft a piece of content that qualifies the person to see that you can help them achieve their goals, then that’s the road to building trust with them.
When you can focus your content on those particular persona’s you start to allow your brand to create the best content possible for those people only. It doesn’t matter how content shocked we are, if you are helping someone get from point A to point B, in that moment, you have become a very important part of their business.
Consistently doing this week after week will help your brand’s reputation with these personas.
#2: Creating An Opportunity
Creating content consistently week in, week out, builds the reputation. This, in turn, builds trust with these select people. After a while, this leads to opportunities that your brand can capitalize on.
It’s easy to hold out your hand when someone is giving you the money to do something for them, but the hard part is creating that scenario where they feel compelled to give it to you.
Content is that scenario.
If you are looking to go anywhere in the digital marketing industry, then you need to have a content marketing strategy set in place. It is the intimate setting that your brand needs to build all of these factors with your potential customer.
If you aren’t sure about your content abilities, then you should set a budget and hire this out, because you are missing opportunities if you aren’t creating that consistent content.
#3: Standing Out From The Crowd
Another reason that you would want to start creating more content for your brand is the fact that it allows you to speak your mind, tell your ideas and thought process. This is the best way to stand out in this busy industry.
Your content is the introduction to your brand. With new, fresh content, you have the opportunity to bring new faces to your brand that you could help.
Focus on what the target needs and then find great ways that they can get what they want by using your content to do it. Like Mark said, we are in a content shocked industry, but that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to stand out from the crowd.
People are doing it everyday and they are doing it through original content that brings fast help to people.
You have a great brand that could be standing out from the pack right now with its content. But, like most, you are unsure of how you are supposed to be doing this.
One way you can bring your brand to the forefront is to niche down…HARDThe Riches Are In The Niches! ~Pat FlynnClick To Tweet
Go super targeted and when I mean super targeted niche down until you can’t niche it down anymore.
For example, if you are a social media managing company and you’re not seeing any business come from writing about the whole ball of wax, ie, Google+, Facebook, Pinterest, etc, then niche down your articles like so:
Pinterest –> Pinterest Ads –> Pinterest Promoted Pins –> Keyword Strategies For Promoted Pins on Pinterest.
See how that works? The harder you niche down, the more specific (and longer) the keyword tail becomes. Your audience gets narrow and more specific and you have a base with which to start from. Use this tip to start standing out if you don’t have a purple cow strategy right away.
You need to be creating content. Some businesses are able to create awesome content every day and that’s great! The more content you can write the better your brand will become to the customer. However, if you’re a small business owner with an employee base of 1-5 people, you may not be able to write content every day.
If this is true, it’s still okay. Don’t force awesome content every day. If your team can only create great content once a week, then stick to that schedule.
The main thing to remember is that you’re putting out great content as much as you can so you can direct your potential customer to your doorstep.
